Health Insurace

Many postdocs are eligible for the University health insurance plan, you should check this with your prospective adviser and make sure it is written on your offer letter. Once you begin at the University, you will need to sign up for the insurance.

As of January 1, 2008, there is only one University health plan, namely Penn State PPO Blue. Details of coverage can be found at:

Unlike with the previous insurance, there is no need to select a principal care provider (PCP)
